With the cold weather approaching I wanted a warm comfort meal. What better way to get that comfort then with baked beans and fresh baked bread.
- What you need:
- 2 cups dried navy beans (8 oz), sorted and rinsed
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3/4 cup real maple syrup
- 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
How to make it:
Soak beans overnight. In the morning drain and rinse. Put all all the ingredients in the crockpot and let cook on low for 8 hours. Serve with some fresh bread.
You could also make this as a side dish instead of the main dish as well. I just really love beans 🙂
