I have been trying and trying to get another blog post in and it seems it just wasn’t meant for me till now.
I wanted to share this with you yesterday but couldn’t get the photo to upload!
Why did I want to post this picture with a massive smile on my face? Well because right before this picture was snapped I had just completed day 1 of the couch to 5 k program. No big deal right? Except for me this is a huge accomplishment. I have been trying for years to complete the couch 2 5 k program and I couldn’t even get thru day one of the workout, that changed yesterday and I’m looking forward to day two of training!
Every day I am more and more in awe of just how far I’ve come in my weight loss and fitness journey.
I am still working on cleaning out the freezer so here’s some pictures of what we’ve been eating lately.
First picture is chicken and cheese Quesadilla with Tzaziki
Second picture is chicken salad on crackers
Third picture is Meatloaf made into meatballs
Fourth picture is my first attempt at Pumperknickel bread
We have also been enjoying lots of frozen berries, salads, yogurt, Cottage cheese whip(it’s just equal parts frozen fruit and cottage cheese blended in the food processor till smooth, some add a touch of honey to make it sweet but I don’t), roast beef wrap, chicken wraps and we had some hotdogs one day as well for a quick lunch. I don’t eat the bread when I have hotdogs but the kids do.
Previously I had a personal trainer which I loved, sadly they cost an arm and a leg to keep so I no longer have one. I tried finding a gym that had daycare for the littles and they were either way to expensive or too far of a drive. I have gotten use to working out a lot so not having anything wasn’t an option. But I liked the idea of being in my house to workout. So I am doing a few things I join as many challenges online as I can. You can find them on Facebook or myfitnesspal or Pinterest or even make your own like this one that I found online.
Another way I’m staying active is I bought the Jillian Michaels Body Revolution DVD’s and I became a member of BeachBody on Demand. Now you don’t need all of these things to stay active you can pick one or even just walk but like I said I like to really challenge myself and get a good sweat on. I also like that the kids can join in on the fun or do their own thing to the music while I workout. I’m a firm believer in leading by example.
How do you get your sweat on? Any programs, classes or even youtube video’s I should look into?
Tonight I decided to head back to the gym. And I need to ask myself why did I wait so long to try Body Jam again. Well besides the fact that I was recovering from surgery.
Within less then a minute of starting the class I completely forgot where I was and just went with it. I’m sure in the morning my hips will be sore but I’m also sure my dreams will be full of dancing and good music tonight lol.
I think this was exactly the class I needed to start with. It’s making me excited for all the other classes I want to try. I think the next to cross off my list is SH’BAM. But for tonight I’m off to have sweet dreams.
