So I’m one of those people that actually enjoys working out. However I also believe that you can’t outrun your fork. You can be training with a trainer hitting all your workout goals but if you aren’t eating properly the weight can and will start climbing.
Also we don’t need a big elaborate workout routine to get in shape and lose some weight. A simple walk will help shed some pounds. Again this will only work if your eating the right foods and fuelling your body properly.
Some of my favourite workouts some might not even consider working out. I love having dance parties with the kids, going on a nature walk or even a good old fashion game of Tag. But then I do have others that are definitely more hard core like Core De Force, 30 day shred and 21 day fix to name a few.
Here’s the thing with working out, it’s like meal prepping if you don’t enjoy it you won’t keep it up so find something that you love to do. Walk up and down the stairs, do a couch workout…whatever you enjoy doing.
A lot of people often as me how I stay on track with my heathy eating. Well there’s no special equation, it’s actually quite simple. The first thing you should start doing in meal planning. Now you can meal plan for the week but if that’s too overwhelming then take it one day at a time. After your use to meal planning and can plan a few days in advance then do a quick meal prep…It doesn’t have to be a complete meal prep but defrost your meats, have your ingredients organized and on hand. You can make certain things that you will be eating regularly like protein balls, overnight oats or baked oatmeal. Make them once and enjoy all week!
The next part of being successful in eating healthy is not to feel deprived or like I am missing out on something. I have tried loads of recipes some have been hits and others major fails but I am finding healthy alternatives to my favourite foods. For example tomorrow morning I will be enjoying a carrot muffin for breakfast. This muffin contains no flour and no sugar so I can enjoy it guilt free.
And finally keep it simple. I have to sometimes remind myself of this, just ask my husband lol. The only time a meal plan and healthy eating will be sustainable is if keep it as easy and effortless as possible. To keep your meal plans simple you can either pick your family favourites or google meal plans and sit back and watch all the ones that show up. There’s low carb, bariatric, Keto, THM and many more styles of meal plans.
It’s great for me to tell you all of this but how about I walk you thru what I am eating tomorrow so you can see how simple this is.
Breakfast- Carrot muffin
snack- Black Forest protein ball
Lunch- Chicken salad (we had leftover chicken to use up) with mini pita and raw veggies
Snack-some fruits and sunflower seeds
Supper- Cheeseburger stuffed mushrooms

Ok so I have no idea where the time has gone. I haven’t blogged in quite some time and honestly I hadn’t realized it had been this long till now.
This summer has been full of adventures for us. The kids and I went camping with friends. My parents came to visit ( love having my parents visit our adventures are always fun!). We went back to a hiking trail that we had been to three years ago. Saw the zoo, aquarium, science world and so much more. I’ve also done a lot of thinking this summer. I have loved sharing my weight loss story with all of you and I will continue to do so. But I have a huge passion for cooking in fact I have my chefs papers. I want to not only talk about my weight loss but show all of you how you can eat not feel deprived and be healthy. So hopefully some time this week I’ll be able to get some pictures of some recipes on the blog. But for now here’s some pictures of our summers adventures.
